BIRGIT kick-off meeting: Training on Building Information Models Integrated with Geographical Information

Training on Building Information Models Integrated with Geographical Information kick-off meeting was held on the 9th and 11th of February 2022 online. 

BIRGIT is an ERASMUS+ Cooperation partnerships in vocational education and training, coordinated by Ocellus Information Systems AB (SE) and participated by GISIG (IT), FORMA. Azione Giove in Formatica (IT), EfVET (BE), NOVOGIT (SE), AIN-Asociacion Industrial Navarra (ES), Sveučilište Sjever (HR), CIP Virgen DEL Camino (ES).

The objective of BIRGIT is to develop the institutional capacity to provide courses to VET trainees where Building Information Modelling and Geographical Information Systems are merged. The constant progress as well as the needs of the digital society require rapid adaptation and application of new technologies with clear implementation in new business, economic and social project.

BIRGIT supports the development of VET programs and courses, also contribute to the green data for all initiatives of the EU and twin transition. The merging of BIM-GIS technologies contributes to the smart community building processes, being elaborated within many member states of the union.

As such, its promotion of latest digital technologies to underpin decision making, as well as the European Digital Strategy.

The first day started with a presentation of all the partners followed by the overall presentation of the project, its objectives, target groups, the intellectual outputs, and then the project management and all the implementation activities.

Each one of the partners of the project has a wealth of experience in the specific sector they operate, and the specific consortium established in the framework of this project is very complementary as each partner brings unique expertise in its area of intervention.
