Bridgwater & Taunton College students mobility
Bridgwater & Taunton College (UK)
Dan Perry, Course Leader for Automotive and Kevin Penn, Automotive Lecturer went to ID and Leiden College in the Netherlands for a week job shadowing within the Automotive department. The primary focus was to experience an e-learning platform currently used at the college and how we could implement this within our own college. Whilst at the college they also got to see and share teaching best practice with both staff and students alike. Dan said “This was a hugely valuable experience and something that I would strongly recommend for people to get involved with”.
5 students from the Automotive department have started their months training in Denmark and Spain, covering Hybrid and Urban Technology. They will spend two weeks with the Colleges and then two weeks in work placements. Dan Perry accompanied three of the students from the Bridgwater centre and Taunton centre to Denmark whilst Jon Harding accompanied the other two to Spain. Dan and Jon spent two days with the students at the college to ensure they were settled before returning. Dan said “The students were so excited to be going away for this module and it is a great experience for them.” You are also able to follow their progress on Facebook .
2 students from Engineering have travelled to Finland to undergo a module in PLC and Robotics with Savo Vocational College. They will have 2 weeks in College and 2 weeks in work placements as well.
We have had a total of 39 different students visit us from all over Europe this term. They have come in to College to integrate in to lessons, work placements and complete specific modules. They have thoroughly enjoyed their time at Bridgwater and Taunton College and the sending Colleges would be keen to receive our students and staff as well.
