Carcraft: A Minecraft simulation game for car mechanics
The Automotive Engineering programme at Intercollege participates in the innovative CarCraft project, which is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, with the aim of developing new learning approaches to Vocational Education and Training. The project was born out of the challenges posed by the effects of the pandemic and the imposition of lockdowns, which highlighted the need to develop on-line interactive learning tools specifically developed for vocational education and training.
Carcraft seeks to modernize vocational education and training by developing interactive and creative solutions to learning.
What is Carcraft?
Carcraft is a Minecraft-based simulation educational game that can be used by instructors and learners in the field of automotive engineering for educational and training purposes. Carcraft seeks to transform teaching and learning into an interactive and fun experience for both learners and instructors. Through the use of Carcraft, learners will be able to identify any problems, build their own virtual car, and prevent possible failures, thus gaining practical and theoretical knowledge in the specific subject area, all through the game-based philosophy!
Project Partners
The Carcraft consortium consists of an international network of partners from 5 different countries: Middlesex University (United Kingdom), Intercollege (Cyprus), Trebag (Hungary), IEK Delta (Greece), IDEK (Greece), and Atermon (Netherlands).
The project started in June 2021 and lasts 24 months.
