Danish national board – activities in the spring 2021
The national Danish board has benefitted from our members being locked down and with time left to join a Danish Round table for dissemination of Erasmus+ KA2 projects in April and our AGM in May. Without spending any money and time on travelling! We must admit we have never been able to accommodate an event for so many people, around 70, and therefore we recognise the qualities of online events. A part of the AGM was open for all Danish vocational schools, also non-members, and we managed to attract quite a number of non-member schools as well.
The Danish national agency presented joined by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs a new Danish founded program “Education without boarders” with a special focus on Africa, with the possibility to apply grants for variety of activities based on partnerships between education institutions and stakeholders in Denmark and Africa. This program could be combined with mobility for Danish apprentices to African countries within the new Erasmus+ program.
A few VET schools are already active in a partnership: SOSU Øst – Social and Health School in Ghana and ZBC (Food and Beverage) inTanzania to mention a few. Stefan and Louise from SOSU Øst spent a month or more working in a hospital in the capital Accra, founded by the national grant “PIU” (Training abroad), which is a kind of Erasmus pro, but the program has existed since the 80s for Danish apprentices, during the last 5 years it is covering the whole world. Have a look at their short movie. Stefan and Louise are training for Social and Health Care Assistants.
The Danish board was re-elected at the AGM and consists of 7 members: Annie Philipsen, Jan Sig Wadsholt, Leif Haar, Lene Bonnen Sandholdt, Malene Olsgaard and Vibeke Nørgaard.
