The European Union more than ever is looking into the digital skills that the workforce needs to match with the companies needs. Hence, the Future of Europe is more digital than ever. The DC4Work project had in mind this idea and has managed to implement an online training curriculum for improving the skills of the trade and commerce SMEs staff and get ready vocational education students for this kind of job roles.

Digital Competences Promoter

It can seem as ambitious target to reach. However, the partnership including institutions from Austria, Germany, Finland, Portugal and Belgium, has work following the guides of the EU Digital Competence Framework and the work-digital based learning approach. After two years of working carefully they have come up with the following resources:

  • A complete study about training needs and trends of the Tourism and Trade sector.
  • A white paper with recommendations and guidance for SMEs and “Digital Competences Promoter”
  • Would you like to become the next Digital Competence promoter? This guideline will help staff from companies to give one step further in their digital skills. Additionally, it provides a curriculum for vocational training to become a Digital Competence promoter. This material is available in English, Finnish, German and Portuguese.
  • Training material with a complete toolbox with 6 training modules which revolve from work-based learning in the digital age to assessing your digital competences.

The final meeting was the occasion to share the experiences while piloting these resources.

The partnership, have not only help to build regional and national synergies but also to pilot with SMEs the training materials to become a Digital Competence promoter.

We ended with an appealing training WBL 4.0 for an employee who is equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to accompany his companies’ digital transformation.

Indeed, a successful digital transformation 4.0 needs well-trained employees 4.0 with high digital literacy and thanks to the DC4WORK project this has become a reality.
