EFVET NGO and EU related projects

Corrected email in Survey on “learner feedback”
As you may well know EFVET is conducting a survey on “learner feedback”. Some months ago we send you a questionaire in PDF format, which can also be found on our website, www.efvet.org, had to be filled in by hand and faxed to John Berkeley, who is in charge of this excersise.
To make this excersise more easy for you, herewith attached the questionaire, which can be filled in on the computer and can be send back by email to either j.p.berkeley@warwick.ac.uk or to efvet@efvet.org

We urge you to take a little bit of your time to fill in this questionaire: we need to gather data from as wide a cross-section of members as possible to be able to produce a proper report of the results.
Thanking you in anticipation for your cooperation,
Kind regards,
Frans Schneider.

NGO platform on Future Objectives of Education and Training Systems in Europe:
EUCIS
 (European Civil Society)
In spring 2001, seven major networks with experience on the issue of LLL came together for the purpose of assembling field experience and expertise within the context of policy development conducting a Europe-wide consultation on the Memorandum on lifelong learning.
Since then, six of those associations: CSR EUROPE, EAEA, EfVET, EVTA, EURO-WEA and SOLIDAR have decided to establish a new platform related to “Education and Training 2010”. This platform is currently giving its contribution to the debate on the Future objectives of education and training systems in Europe. In particular, the platform has developed a consultation basis open to all interested actors from the civil society, dedicated to the debate on LLL and on the creation of a Europe of knowledge. The network has used this platform to start a systematic exchange of experiences between social partners, Ngos and stakeholders especially in the fields of basic skills in the sense of key competences for life.
A final conference “Skills for Life as the Key to Lifelong learning- Towards achieving the Lisbon Strategy” will be held on May 17th, in the buildings of the Economic and Social Committee in Brussels.
If you are interested to participate, please contact any of the organising networks to register.

Spring report from the European Commission to the European Council

The European Union has been implementing the Lisbon strategy for four years and these have given rise to undeniable progress, instituting the transition needed towards a competitive job-creating knowledge-based economy characterised by growth, social cohesion and respect for our environment.
This fourth report shows the state of progress made since 2000. It invites the European Council to seize the opportunities provided by the economic recovery and by the coming enlargement, and to give the necessary impetus to carry the Lisbon strategy forward.
