The Institute in Frosinone is one of the selected group of Italian schools admitted to the experimentation of the new path of secondary school in four years instead of five. This is an important opportunity to implement innovative and flexible teaching strategies in order to achieve the best learning outcomes on a short lenght.

The Principal, Mrs Patrizia Carfagna, and the team of teachers who worked on the project have focused on the construction of a new curriculum based on the acquisition of knowledge and skills able to keep up with the times and able to put the students in a position to overcome the challenges of modern society.

The strengths of the project are both the possibility for students to acquire various competence certifications such as: ECDL European Computer Driving License and EUCIP Core for computer skills, Trinity exams at various levels for English, DELE examinations of the Cervantes Institute for Spanish, but also, and above all, the uncomparable possibilità to award a double degree: the Italian Diploma in International Relations for Marketing and the European Diploma for Business (EBBD).

EBBD aims to build a new portfolio of more modern and competitive skills in the economic and business sector. For this reason several lessons will be taught in English (CLIL mode) from the first year. Students will acquire better language skills in two or even three foreign languages such as English, Spanish and Chinese. Internships abroad will be fundamental to allow pupils to compare their syllabus directly with their peers from the various schools in the network. The EBBD model was conceived within the Comenius and Erasmus plus projects and was carried forward with enthusiasm by several European partners by EFvet itself too as a partner.

The experimental paths will help the students to increase the quality of the training: the students who intend to continue their studies at University and the students who wish to enter in the world of labour will both benefit from this, knowing they can count on the skills required in the professional sectors.

On the 1st and 2nd of March we are waiting to receive at school the principal and the vice-principal of the German institute BBS Wirtschaft , Ludwigshafen, who will explain to the teachers all the most important aspects to implement the EBBD syllabus.

In the meantime we are very confident about the success of the initiative and while we are collecting, these days, the enrollments to the new class, the teaching staff is getting ready for the important task of starting the programming of the new experimental class.

Thanks again to EFVET which allowed us to come into contact with the EBBD network , share experience and learn from best practices.
