EYCA policy recommendations – It's about us, it's about Europe!

Dear colleagues,

In name of EYCA Steering Committee, it is my pleasure to share with you the final version of EYCA policy recommendations:  It’s about us, it’s about Europe! Towards European Democratic Citizenship.

First of all, we would like to thank you for your involvement in the European Year of Citizens Alliance, and notably in the Working Groups for those of you who got actively involved in these groups.  More particularly, we would like to thank again the Working Groups’ co-chairs and the secretaries for their work throughout the Year (please note that the working groups’ recommendations will be uploaded on the website in the beginning of January 2014).

After the plenary debate and agreement of 21 October 2013, in Brussels, the final document has been edited and translated. We’d like to thank the translators for their help in making it possible to have 15 versions of the recommendations available.

You will find the official online version (in English), and will be able to download it, HERE.  The translated versions of this document will be uploaded on the website as soon as they are available.

printed version of the document will also be made in all the languages available. We will get back to you with more information on this as well as on the advocacy campaign to be implemented. Please note that these topics will be discussed in Vilnius during EYCA internal meeting on December 12th.

Please note that this document will be officially presented during the Closing event of the EYC2013, in Vilnius, on 13 December 2013. We would therefore like to ask you, not to unveil this document in its final form, before the Closing conference. Although you are invited to share the document among your networks / Alliances, we would like to suggest you not to have any public communication on them before Vilnius conference.

If you have any questions about the policy recommendations, please feel free to contact us.

Sincere regards,
Vladimir Sestovic
