Hans van Aalst was President of EFVET during the period 2000-2006.
His main interest was focused on the process of knowledge management and development and how to reflect the results in traditional study material to make it approachable for students.
His membership of the Dutch National Advisory Committee for Innovation of Secondary Education enabled him to bring his interest and specialism in practice.
Later on he joined the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) in Paris.
His focal point was knowledge development outside the way of traditional scientific methods,
especially the impact on learning processes, both at school and on the workplace, of the industrial knowledge development, automatise and quality management.
After his OECD period he became Research and Development manager at the Dutch National Innovation Centre for Education (KPC/LPC). During this period, in the year 2000, he was recommended for function of president of EFVET which he accepted.
From out his passion for education, his expertise and extensive educational and industrial network, he succeeded in widening EFVET’s knowledge base and profile.
In a context of life long learning and globalisation he focused on and emphasised the influence on professional and adult education.
He realised the introduction of EFVET in European educational and industrial networks, like CEDEFOP, consultation platforms acting in the field of education and training and the like.
