Health Social Media at the EfVET Conference

EfVET’s Annual International Conference held in Thessaloniki from 25 to 28 October 2017, where EfVET staff disseminated Health Social Media project during the roundtables.

The Healthy Social Media project was presented by EfVET during the roundtable session 2. Participants were invited to review the first outcomes of “Needs Analysis Study” and comment on other aspects of the project development. Also, we showed some of the interesting figures found along the study “not only teenagers are spending up to 12 hours as well adults are spending up more than 7 hours a day on Social Media”. The roundtable’s participants raise some comments regarding this, stressing that  “we have to safe teens from all fake news and that social media has made easy to have a double life, presenting a false image of them and their currently lives”. Therefore, we have to find solution for protection of our data in all social media.

EfVET staff had the opportunity to disseminated the project by handing out more than 150 brochures and printing version of the First Newsletter.

EfVET’s Annual International Conference milestones

Over 240 delegates drawn from 30 countries. The conference counted with high-level speakers such as the Greek Deputy Minister of Education, Research & Religions Affairs, the Deputy Head of Unit, DG-EMPL for VET & Adult Education (European Commission); the Director of CEDEFOP; a Policy Analyst of OECD Directorate for Education & Skills and Member of BoD of IVEPE SEV (Greek VET training school).

The objectives of the conference were:

  • Future skills for the workforce
  • Quality apprenticeship & work based learning
  • Future teachers & students
  • Digital learning/teaching
  • Innovations/robotics

Participants benefitted from sharing good practice, products and outcomes resulting from members KA2 ERASMUS+ project.
