📣 24th of January – Today, we celebrate the International Day of Education, an annual milestone for EfVET mission: enhancing and improving technical and vocational education and training (VET), while promoting the principles of the LifeLongLearning (LLL) approach.
This year’s theme, “Preserving human agency in a world of automation”, highlights the urgent need to reimagine the education system and to keep the “human factor” at its centre, to meet the challenges of our rapidly changing world. 🔎 Learn more: www.unesco.org/en/days/education
As we celebrate this day, it’s important to face the key challenge of defending VET as an educational pathway for the personal and not just professional development of many young people. To this extent, EfVET, alongside many other VET organizations, is working on developing effective internationalization strategies and modernizing the offer of vocational institutions through a capacity building process.
The recent activation of an International Working Group on Inclusive Vocational Excellence and Wellbeing aims at encouraging opportunities of knowledge exchange and development also on the interconnection between digital innovations and wellbeing. For more info, join our platform.
This desire was reflected also in the recent event “VET TO VET: Capacity Building” held in Tirana, Albania by EfVET, APRO Formazione, SEPR, Albanian Skills, Shkolla e Mesme Profesionale Hoteleri, KAMZA MFC and Build Green Group. The project is aimed at increasing attractiveness and performance through internationalization and mobility, and it has been considered of extremely importance by VET professionals and local students.
The idea of reinforcing VET education emerges also from the interviews that we did with the different students that we had the pleasure of meeting. The students shared their experience during their internship in Lyon and explained how it will help them pursue their professional future.
Furthermore, the project positively contributed to their needs in agreement with all partners and it helped pursue objectives that are relevant for VET Education, such as internationalization and mobility, project design and management and continuous professional development of teachers.
