IUS Lifelong Learning Center organised a CNC training in Sarajevo.
On Tuesday, January 22nd, 2020 a group of enthusiastic learners completed CNC training organised by our member IUS Lifelong Learning Center from Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was another in a series of trainings that IUS Life organises every two months. The training was carried out in an architecture laboratory where the trainees could get hands-on experience on a three-axis and four-axis machine, a CO2 laser cutter.
Participants from different parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina acquired new skills and knowledge during fifty hours of practical training. In the final part of the training, the trainees independently work on the machines and make models in soft materials such as styrofoam.
CNC training is becoming more popular and attractive among the female population. Although the participation of women in these training is still extremely low, it is noticeable that almost every training session we have registered women of young and middle age who want to acquire these very competitive skills. In this group was Azra Ibisevic, a mechanical engineer to whom this was the first practical experience with CNC machines, but she sees herself in this perspective area.
Azra underlined that this was her first working encounter with CNC machines, but she learned a lot and she would like to encourage females to sign up for this or similar training. She told us that working on a CNC machine allows her creativity to come to the fore and that is additional motivation.
Modern manufacturing jobs require sophisticated technical, operational skills and specialised training for both men and women so that these types of jobs can no longer be considered exclusively male-only jobs. The fact that interest in these training among the female population is noticeably increasing encourages employers to employ a female workforce in various industries.
IUS Life congratulates all participants of this valuable training and thanks for the positive comments and trust shown.
