Kari Puumalainen re-elected national representative of Finland

On Friday, 11 November 2019, EfVET Finnish national board re-elected, unanimously, Kari Puumalainen, as their EfVET National Representative. 

Kari is the director of Ylä-Savo Municipal Federation of Education and also the principal of Ylä-Savo Vocational College. He has worked over 20 years in different positions in the development and management of vocational education.

On his re-election, Puumalainen said “I’m very happy to continue as a Finnish National Representative in EfVET for next two years and to be a member of EfVET family” referring as the biggest challenges for next years “to work for our new constitution and also give support for thematic teams“.

Kari has been involved in several different projects at both National and European Level having worked as the development director of Upper Savo Development Company Ltd where his responsibility among other things was to activate the use of different Structural Funds programmes in the Region of Ylä-Savo.

He has a master’s degree in philosophy (M.Sc.) from the University of Eastern Finland, a Major in computer science, business economics and vocational education and holds a specialisation in vocational education and training and the role of VET in regional development and economic strength of enterprises.

Finland will welcome the next EfVET Annual Conference in 2020 which will be celebrated in  Kuopio.
