The Technische Universitaet Muenchen (TUM) covers a large spectrum of fundamental and applied research with studies ranging from engineering, natural sciences, including life and medical sciences, to economics and teacher education. Today TUM comprises 13 faculties with more than 23,000 students (about 20 percent of whom come from abroad), 420 professors, and roughly 6,500 academic and non-academic staff. TUM is thus well positioned to create new knowledge and know-how.
The Lehrstuhl fuer Paedagogik (Chair for Pedagogics) is member of the faculty TUM School of Education. Currently seven scientific assistants work together with the ordinary Prof. Dr. Andreas Schelten in research and lecturing. The main field of activity covers research in vocational and work related education. Special aspects are national and international systems of vocational education, theory of vocational education, didactics of vocational education, psychosocial challenges in education, industrial pedagogic, intercultural education, career advisement in vocational education, classroom research in constructivist learning environments and teacher education. The project MOVET is coordinated by Dr. Markus Mueller.
