The online Mobiliteach Summer School in the framework of the INTERVETWB project
In the period from 06/10/2020 to 10/07/2020, within the INTERVETWB project, the online Mobiliteach Summer School was held and professors from secondary vocational schools from Bosnia and Herzegovina took part in it.
After this beneficial educational event, the professors shared their impressions, confirming that the summer school met expectations and that this type of training is necessary and extremely useful for teachers and all those engaged in the education sector.
Prof. Aleksandar Simic, from Technical High School “Mihajlo Pupin”, Bjeljina, said:
“First of all, I would like to thank all for the experience gained during this seminar. At first, I was a little worried about how I would cope with using English, but it turned out that I wasn’t that bad either.
The seminar itself was well designed, it was not strenuous, for the workshops we did not require knowledge of abstract things so I did them with enthusiasm. When I applied for this Mobility in the Teaching program, I did not know at all (nor anyone from my environment) what that term represents, but the mentors made me understand in a simple way and through various examples (and workshops).
I especially liked the fact that we formed new groups for workshops every day, so I met many colleagues from my closer region and from all over Europe. I especially liked sharing experiences with all of them. Through several workshops, I saw differences in the perceptions of us people from the Balkans and participants who are not from the Balkans. This is where the intercultural dimension of this seminar comes to the fore, which was one of the goals.
I found additional benefits for myself in the programs and sites that we used during the seminar because in the future I will use them in the realisation of my teaching. The moderators and lecturers at the seminar tried to make the seminar as interesting as possible and they succeeded. Despite being online, it allowed us to communicate directly and the moderators left no one deprived of saying what they wanted at the time.
I also realised how important it would be for our students to get the opportunity to participate in the Mobility in Teaching project and I will try to animate the management of my school to be actively involved in this project. As for me, personally this whole concept is very interesting and I will gladly accept participation in some future projects.”
Prof. Esad Delic-Ibukic, from Mixed High School Bihac, affirmed:
“First of all, I would like to thank you for being with your mediation managed to participate in the summer school “Summer School INTERVET WB 2020”.
I am satisfied with the matter and the way of presenting it, as well as initiating it engaging us as participants throughout the lecture. We weren’t here just passive observers/listeners which I especially liked. Almost everyone the participants already had some experience with “INTERVET”, and for me, this was the first attendance, but despite that, I managed to adjust relatively quickly and become “active”. Most of the material presented is known to all of us, but here is how to systematise, organizs, and harmonise it all.
All lecturers were extremely prepared. During the presentation, I followed with whom program tools are used by the organiser and lecturers. All these tools are online available and in most cases fully or partially free and can be easily used in our environment, both for the preparation of some teaching units and for interaction with students. All lectures were presented in English and Italian, since most of them are Italian.
I think that this summer school has contributed a lot to me both professionally and in the personal field of my education, I would be satisfied if I had the opportunity to participate again in this kind of seminar.”
