I was introduced to EfVET by my colleagues and friends from Denmark while participating in one of the EU projects in 2005 and became National representative for Lithuania in 2006. In 2008 EfVET SC and ET colleagues and friends showed trust in me and we organised the EfVET annual conference in Vilnius, after which I was a co-opted member in the Executive Team, responsible for membership.
From 2014 to 2018 I was elected Secretary and had the honour to represent the organisation in numerous events, conferences and working groups at the EU level, aiming to develop VET sector making it transparent, up-to-date, highly international and capable of meeting the high standards and the demand of the world of work. I have always had a great passion for the development of EfVET, making it a paramount NGO of VET providers in Europe.
Looking at where EfVET stands now, I am happy and proud to see its flourishing, as with each year it becomes stronger and, while representing institutions in all EU countries, it is capable to contribute to shaping EU policies for VET.
In my professional career, working as a teacher of English, an international coordinator, Head of Development Unit in Marijampole VET Centre and later as Deputy Director for Marijampole Kolegija, I advertised for life – long learning. I remain faithful to my ideals, and at present I am studying for my 3rd MA at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania.
