On 9 June European Parliament President Martin Schulz decided to postpone the vote on recommendations for TTIP to the European Commission. This signals a disagreement between political groups in the EP, mainly on the issue of the ISDS. The S&D want to have a “milder” version of the ISDS, which foresees replacement of commercial tribunals with public tribunals when disputes arise. EPP, ALDE and ECR do not agree with the S&D on that. Therefore, there will be no endorsement for TTIP or specific recommendations on it by the EP yet, and instead a compromise will have to be somehow made in order to ensure it in the future.
