I.E.K Orizon Kalamatas hosted the TEF project meeting
In the scope of Tourism Education of the Future (TEF) project focusing on improving the ability to reduce skills gaps between schools and the tourism industry, from 23 to 24 May 2023, I.E.K Orizon Kalamatas hosted the second TEF project meeting in Kalamata, Greece.
The project meeting welcomed 5 partnering organisations Landstede Groep, Apro Formazione, Insignare, International University of Sarajevo, CEBANC, Ι.Ε.Κ. Orizon Kalamatas who gathered to discuss various topics.
On the first day, partners discussed:
State of Art
– Masterclasses
– Course catalogue
– Thematic Workshop in Fatima
Skills and Trend analysis
-Elaborate analysis results for CVET courses
– Roles and responsibilities
– Preparatory activities (collection of survey data results)
Blended Skills competition
– Setting up competitions
– Dates, roles, responsibilities
Communication and Dissemination
On the second day, partners discussed:
CVET courses and micro-credentials for professionals
– Preparatory activity: each partner presented its course offer for tourism and hospitality professionals
Pact for skills initiative
– Preparatory activity: partners read the document ‘Developing regional partnerships – good practices from coves cluster platforms and S3 regions – October ‘22
Project Management – Next meetings
– Review of GANTT chart, scheduled meetings and deadlines
– Defining the SCs meeting dates until the next TPM
– Preparatory activity: partners checked their school calendars, national holidays, and key staff holidays.
During the two work days in Kalamata, TEF partners had the opportunity to visit the city centre of Kalamata, took a stroll on the iconic Kalamata beach, and concluded their evening by eating a traditional Greek dinner on the beach.
Regular TEF transnational project meetings will lead to a better quality of VET provision, increased employability of students and professionals, and to an improved quality of the tourism offer in partners’ tourism ecosystems.
