TEKNOKENT COLLEGES IN TURKEY PROVIDED ‘DIGCOMP’ TRAINING FOR 10.000 STUDENTS THROUGHOUT 40 VET SCHOOLS TO INCREASE THE KNOWLEDGE AND AWARENESS OF STUDENTS AT EUROPEAN DIGITAL WEEK.
Known as DigComp, the Digital Competence Framework provides a common language for identifying and describing key areas of digital competence. It is an EU-wide tool for improving the digital competence of students (people), helping policymakers formulate policies that support digital competence building, and planning education and training initiatives to improve the digital competence of specific target groups.
Purpose of this action;
– To determine whether the digital proficiency training provided changes the knowledge and skills of the students in respect of pre-training.
– To compare the pre-education and post-education situations of the students in context of digital competences. Digcomp training included the topics of “information and data literacy”, “communication and cooperation”, “creation of digital content”, “security” and “problem solving” for 10,000 students from 28 different cities of Turkey. During the training, a pre and post survey was applied to measure the knowledge level of the students. And a positive and meaningful rise was observed in these surveys.
