At All Digital Summit 2025, EfVET’s President, Joachim James Calleja, delivered a keynote speech on “Levelling the field: How education’s excellence is being redefined by the digital revolution.”
In his speech, Prof. Calleja explored how the digital transformation is reshaping the future of education, tearing apart traditional methods and recognising the value of practical, work-based, and digital learning. He underlined that today’s smart learners are adaptable, self-motivated, and digitally confident – these are the learners that drive innovation, and they outperform traditional pathways, particularly in areas like artificial intelligence, design or entrepreneurship.
Excellence in education is no longer defined only by academic results but by skills, adaptability, and digital inclusion. Ensuring equal access to digital learning and embedding digital literacy at all levels is essential.

Prof. Calleja had also the opportunity to share insights with key stakeholders such as Ahmet Murat Kılıç, Head of the Digital Transformation Unit at the Council of Europe, Mustafa Canli, Director General at the Ministry of National Education, Mario Fava, President at Local Council’s Association and Fabio Nascimbeni, Human Capital Development Expert at the European Training Foundation.
EfVET Secretariat is also present at the Summit, engaging with multiple stakeholders, showcasing ongoing projects in innovation and microcredentials, reinforcing the role of Vocational Education and Training at building a more inclusive, innovative, and digitally empowered future.
