As a partner in the ENNEPlus Project, EfVET contributes to initiatives that strengthen the role of vocational education and training (VET) in addressing the green and digital transitions. One of the key activities of the project is the Eco-Digithons, educational marathons where VET learners collaborate to develop solutions to environmental and social challenges using digital and technological approaches.
In 2026, several Eco-Digithons will take place across Europe, bringing together VET teams to work on real-life challenges through a challenge-based learning approach. Participants collaborate in teams, experiment with ideas, and develop practical solutions while strengthening transversal skills such as teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.
All Eco-Digithons follow a common methodology developed within the ENNEPlus project. This framework defines the learning objectives, working phases, and facilitation principles, ensuring a shared approach across countries while allowing adaptation to local contexts.
This year’s Eco-Digithons will be organised in several locations:
- Italy – Foligno, 18–20 March (13 teams)
- Spain – Madrid and online, 16–18 March (12 teams)
- Austria – Graz, FH Joanneum – University of Applied Sciences, 16–17 April (9 teams)
- Portugal, 8–10 May, organised within the European Green Capital programme (10 teams)
- Online Eco-Digithon, 28 May, with 10 teams from other partner countries
Each Eco-Digithon concludes with a final pitching session where teams present their solutions and exchange ideas with participants from other institutions.
Five selected teams will also have the opportunity to participate in the Social Hackathon Umbria 2026, where they will present their ideas again in an international setting and experience another collaborative innovation format.
Through these activities, the ENNEPlus project promotes cooperation among VET institutions across Europe and highlights the role of vocational education in supporting sustainable and digital innovation. EfVET is pleased to contribute to this initiative, which provides learners with opportunities to develop skills while working on challenges that matter for their communities and for Europe.
