🌍 Expanding Global Reach
The consortium carried out a strategic mission to Sri Lanka, presenting the MICROIDEA methodology, micro-credentials framework, ISO/IEC 17024 certification approach, and AI-powered labour market tools to national stakeholders. Read more here: https://micro-idea.eu/study-visit-to-sri-lanka/
🤝 Building Strategic Partnerships
Meetings with national authorities, training institutions, labour representatives, and recruitment agencies focused on strengthening skills certification and improving international recognition of qualifications.
🎯 A pilot initiative with TVEC was agreed, including:
✔ 25 beneficiaries in tourism & food services
✔ Training of local trainers
✔ Parallel pilots in Spain, Greece & Cyprus
✔ Participation in the ISO/IEC 17024 certification process
🧩 Closing the Certification Gap
Stakeholders acknowledged the need for internationally recognised certification pathways. MICROIDEA’s ISO/IEC 17024-based model was presented as a forward-looking solution to enhance transparency, employability, and worker protection.
📌 A Strategic Step Forward
The Sri Lanka mission marks a major milestone in MICROIDEA’s internationalisation strategy. As we move into the piloting and certification phase in 2026, the project continues to connect education, labour market intelligence, and quality-assured certification into one coherent pathway.
