Summary of the Project
POOLS CX is a Leonardo supported TOI (Transfer of Innovation) project based on the POOLS project (2005-2007).
The project translates and adapts the POOLS project core results: Course Book on CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning), Course Description, DIY (Do It Yourself) videos, and CALL units that demonstrate how to produce CALL materials.
POOLS CX covers modern European languages including LWUTL (Less Widely Used and Taught Languages).
The emphasis on communicative language teaching encourages language learning in vocational contexts.
Comments
POOLS CX adds value by adding three more languages: Italian (IT), Greek (GR), and Turkish (TR).
The transfer of innovation is not just a translation and adaptation exercise.
After adapting the POOLS core outcomes (Course Book, Course Description, DIY videos, and CALL units), course participants from EL, IT, and TK are coached in video recording and editing techniques, in software production, and in CALL methodologies suitable for CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), and task based learning.
The course participants then produce videos that can be used in multimedia applications for computer assisted language learning in EL, IT and TK.
