The Board Meeting brings together EfVET Board representatives to discuss strategic areas and key priorities before the EfVET Annual Conference and the General Assembly which will be held from 22 to 25 October in Fatima, Portugal.
The Board brings together 18 National Representatives and the 6 Executive Management Team (EMT) members to discuss key priorities and strategic areas for the development of the organisation and its members in Antalya, Türkiye. Special thanks to Onur Arslan and Türkiye’s EfVET members to host the Board Meeting.
This time, in particular, the Board of EfVET was called to appoint the new President of EfVET and the other members of the Executive Management Team who will start their mandate since next October 24th, except the Secretary to the Board, Ami Toikka, who was already appointed beforehand.
After a process of evaluation and interviews, Joachim James Calleja was confirmed President of EfVET for the next 3 years. At the same time, the new EMT 2025-2028 will also include:
- Arja Flinkman, Vice-President for Policy, Research and Publications
- Carlos de Olagüe Smithson, Vice-President for Memberships and Outreach
- Sylvia Liuti, Vice-President for Projects and Partnerships
- Jon Harding, Treasurer
As stated by James Calleja in his speech after re-election, “Since 2018 EfVET has seen a gradual and positive transformation into a stronger and well organised association of European training providers. A steadfast increase in membership, participation in European projects and EU fora, finances and connectivity with members has taken EfVET to higher levels of attraction and excellence.”
We extend our sincere appreciation to the new EMT designated members, the previous one, the Board, all candidates and to our community who, again, gave an incredible example of democracy and commitment for the development of VET in Europe and beyond.
