EfVET- The European Forum of Technical Vocational Education and Training- is currently looking for a Communication and Project Officer to support the implementation of the Strategic Plan 2019-2021 specifically in the communication and European funded projects.
The candidate should be a self-starter, highly motivated to gain experience in the areas of communication and project management with an excellent level of English and knowledge of French. She/He is a good communicator, with a positive attitude, a strong sense of teamwork and that can adjust easily to fast-paced working environments. The candidate should also be able to handle a number of diverse projects and tasks related to EfVET Communication area and projects.
This is a full-time position, based in Brussels. The position is suitable for a junior professional (2 or 3 years of professional experience) or someone who has already completed an internship in the field of communications.
Responsibilities and areas of work
Communication Area
- Review and Implement EfVET communication plan, digital strategy and assure that EfVET image complies with EfVET brand entailing- but not exclusive:
- Update website and social media activity maintaining a record of media coverage and report on analytics and metrics;
- Content creation: writing interviews, magazine, newsletters, communications materials and producing engaging material for social media channels (disseminate briefing, reports leaflets and other communication material). Transform technical content into visual and well written digital content;
- Social media- creating, managing and growing the organisation’s presence through Twitter, LinkedIn and other strategically relevant online media and Write, edit and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports and other marketing material;
- Lead the work related to the review of EfVET website working closely with EfVET Executive Team and Steering Committee and web developer;
- Support the production of multimedia and website content development and maintenance;
- Support the review and implementation of the internal information and knowledge management system;
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with EfVET Members, keeping membership database up to date;
- Maintain contact databases and mailing lists up to date;
- Monitor the European Commission and European Parliament news and trends;
Project Area
- Support the development and implementation of Dissemination and Communication Plans of current and future grant-funded projects;
- Conduct desk research on areas considered as priorities for EFVET;
- Support the organization of events (logistics and communication) liaising with speakers, handling participant’s registrations, developing communication products for events follow up and producing meeting reports and related publications;
- Attend and report on events, briefings, and other relevant meetings with international and national actors;
- Provide administrative support where needed;
Requirements
Education
- Studies in communication, public affairs, or any other relevant field (experience will be considered);
Technical
- Work Experience: 2-3 years’ work experience in Communications, Press Relations;
- Knowledge and experience of software producing web content (E.g. InDesign, Canva,…);
- Strong graphic design, art/illustration, and visual storytelling background with a creative aesthetic;
- Good level of general computer literacy: Google Docs, MS Office and presentations;
- Excellent writing skills;
- Digital native: experience in using CMS, mass mailing systems and social media channels;
- Good analytical skills;
- Previous experience or knowledge of the EU institutions and the way they function is an asset;
- Experience in managing a Content Management System (CMS) and Customer relationship management (CRM), will be considered is an asset;
- Knowledge or experience of previous work within VET area will be considered an asset;

Job Conditions/Offer
- Full-time Belgian contract: 38 hours per week
- Length of contract: 2 years with extension possibility
- Salary: 2300 € gross salary (full time) +benefits (lunch vouchers and transport allowance, following the Belgian Law recommendations regarding the calculation of the distance)
