Coordinated by ENGIM (IT), WINGS Work-Based Innovation for Next-Generation skills is a recent 3-years Erasmus+ funded project (Nov. 2025 – Oct. 2028) aimed to strengthen Work-Based Learning (WBL) systems in Vocational Education and Training (VET), while replying to the following pressing issues:
- Skills mismatch between education and labour market needs;
- Limited integration of WBL in VET systems in several EU countries;
- Lack of recognised certification of competences acquired in real work contexts.
WINGS Kick-off Meeting (KoM) took place between March 10th and 11th, in Brussels (BE), hosted by EfVET.
At this KoM, partners had the opportunity to go through all of the project’s Work Packages and their tasks, and to set a plan for the upcoming activities and results of WINGs, which include:
- A questionnaire to collect best practices and challenges faced by VET teachers, in-company tutors and learners across Europe, which will be included on a Guideline aimed at VET providers and companies to enhance the effectiveness and quality of WBL environments;
- A Training Course targeting VET teachers and trainers and in-company tutors, rooted on a micro-credential approach aimed to increase recognition and certification of skills and competences acquired by learners through WBL;
- An interactive massive open online course (MOOC) platform, in which the above-mentioned Training Course will become available;
- A Transnational WBL Network that will foster a stronger cooperation between VET providers, companies and other key stakeholders, contributing to the replication of all WINGS results and outcomes beyond the project’s implementation period.
WINGS partners will also organise national focus groups and thematic webinars (which will be carried out in the scope of EfVET Work-Based Learning Working Group to gather all relevant stakeholders and ensuring their insightful contributions are included in all WINGS results produced towards their clarity, quality and usability across Europe and beyond.
