Adaptive VET for a Changing Tourism Sector

🌍 What can a Greek island of 500 people teach VET about the future of tourism?

The EfVET Thematic Team Tourism Online Masterclasses are here! 🎓

On average, Europe’s hospitality sector is still missing around 10% of its workforce. Meanwhile, technology is changing faster than curricula can be redesigned, and the pressure to work sustainably keeps growing. 🏨⚡

In 2021, Tilos was sending 87% of its waste to landfill. Two years later it was sending none, and it had become the world’s first certified Zero Waste island ♻️. It got there by training people as well as building infrastructure: residents, businesses and professionals learned new ways of working together, quickly. The change also created new jobs in sustainable tourism.

That is the kind of adaptability tourism VET needs to build.
