A new welcome day for our new intern Urko Barrueta
Originally from Spain, Urko is a graduate student in Modern Languages by the University of Deusto. He has also lived in Madrid, where he studied a Master’s degree in European Union at CEU San Pablo University.
“I am really excited to be part of EfVET and I believe this is going to be a great experience and a good way to start my future career. I am looking forward to become a part of the team that composes EfVET and join the several projects they are working on. I hope my time at EfVET serves as support and progress to the organisation and I am confident about my commitment to the job, as I am expecting this to be a valuable experience not only for me but also for EfVET.”
Urko has always been enthusiastic about multicultural spaces and learning and sharing new languages. Spanish is his mother tongue, and he learnt Basque and English at school. At university Urko mastered both languages and started learning German and, a few years later, French, considering himself fluent enough in those two as well.
Moreover, he adds: “Thanks to my academic background, EfVET gives me the opportunity to work in projects and events; on the one hand, in those related to the international environment and in the European Union, and on the other hand, in those in which I can develop the skills associated with education, languages and lifelong learning. Last but not least, as the office of EfVET is located in Brussels, this city is the second to none, so as to achieve all the goals that I want to fulfil.”
And: “For the future, I would like to continue working in this multicultural environment as it has been my dream since I was really young.”
