As CRES approaches its fifth anniversary, 30 members gathered in the historic city of Rome, Italy, for the CRES Board and General Meeting. This event marked a milestone in the organization’s journey of fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and shaping a more inclusive future. Over the course of the meeting, participants celebrated past achievements, welcomed new opportunities, and laid the groundwork for the future.

The meeting began with the introduction of a significant new initiative: a specialized training program aimed at empowering members to harness the appropriate use of artificial intelligence in the context of proposal writing. With the support of FARI (AI for the Common Good Initiative), CRES aimed at ensuring that members are equipped with practical, forward-thinking skills.
The event marked a significant moment of growth for the CRES community with the admission of new members, the launch of CRES’s first seasonal mission running from September 2023 to March 2024, and the presentation of the CRES Competency Map tool. These developments signal an exciting new chapter, offering a structured framework for focused initiatives and fostering deeper engagement among members.
In addition to strategic discussions, the meeting featured informative sessions led by Advisory Group Members. These sessions provided an opportunity to delve into critical themes shaping the future of European society and its labor market. Topics ranged from sustainable development in the digital era to promoting gender equality and diversity in workplaces and education. Other sessions explored circular competencies for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the role of emerging technologies in fostering civic engagement, participation, and resilience.
To further foster collaboration, the meeting included dynamic co-creation workshops as part of the team-group laboratory initiative. These workshops encouraged members to explore innovative solutions to pressing challenges, laying the groundwork for future projects and partnerships. The CRES General Meeting in Rome was a testament to the organization’s commitment to fostering an inclusive, sustainable, and innovative future. It provided an invaluable platform for members to exchange ideas, forge connections, and celebrate the collective achievements of nearly five years of progress.
