Development of accredited micro-credential in green finance -MiCrES

The 2nd MiCreS (European Micro-credentials and Professional Qualifications Certification System) meeting came to a close on 25 & 26 September, when we delved into the next stages of the project, with a strong focus on WP2 and WP3.

The MiCreS Project is designed to develop a sector-specific micro-credentialing ecosystem. Leveraging blockchain technology it ensures secure, transparent, and portable certification of skills across the EU.
The 2nd  partner meeting in Barcelona, MiCreS  is making great strides towards introducing micro-credentials training in the banking and financial services sector, with a strong focus on sustainability and ESG principles.
The key highlight of the partner meeting was the presentation of the draft curriculum for the ESG Foundation Certificate, led by IFS Malta and Ireland’s Institute of Banking (IOB). This program is designed to equip financial services professionals with essential knowledge of ESG, regulatory frameworks as well as future trends in sustainable finance.
Malta and Ireland are collaborating closely on the curriculum formulation and programme design ensuring the end product fulfils its goal of bridging the skills gap in the sector.
Next step – to finalize the assessment process and secure accreditation for this critical micro-credential programme.
We are excited to continue empowering professionals across Europe with the expertise needed to meet the growing demand for sustainable finance skills and knowledge
