EfVET Italian National Board Annual Meeting in Matera

The annual EfVET Italian National event has been held in Matera, hosted by Materahub: not only networking opportunities and mutual learning, but also an immersion in touching and emotional stories of affirmation and redemption. From the direct voice of ex-detained and young people with disabilities, participants learned how much the craft and creative sector is helping in offering them real and concrete job opportunities. 

The event was warmly welcomed and introduced by Sylvia Liuti (Coordinator of EfVET Italy), Luigi Martulli (CEO of Materahub, hosting the event), Valentina Chanina (Secretary General, EfVET). Also, Vice-President Stefano Tirati addressed the audience, about the development of EfVET in this important moment for VET policies in the EU and Italy.  

During the event, there was a discussion focusing on several crucial aspects of modern professional education. Participants examined ways to enhance training methodologies and maximize their impact on learners and the workforce. The event addressed a range of topics, including: 

  1. II European framework of entrepreneurial competence EntreComp: how can it be used to favor the development of entrepreneurial competence?  
  2. Microcredentials, a new trend: what are the benefits for professional training? 
  3. Learning by doing presentation of the Hackathon methodology and brainstorming can be integrated and adapted in the context of professional training

The event featured thematic tables that facilitated focused discussions and knowledge sharing. A session was dedicated to showcasing MOSAIC’s training formats for social inclusion, underscoring the importance of inclusive educational strategies. 

A key segment of the event examined how European policies support the Pact 4 Skills. Experts discussed its relevance and how it can be used to help professional training systems. 

Puglia Culture and Materahub (EfVET Member from Bari) also presented a Manifesto for the creation of a cluster of Creative and Cultural Industries, an initiative aimed at increasing collaboration in these sectors. The meeting was closed with a study visits in Matera organised by local partners.
