As CEO of Foyle International, Mr Murray has been involved in language teaching and vocational training since 1990.
Having studied Applied Linguistics and specializing in voice recognition in the early 1980’s he has gone on to establish a successful International Language school. (Est 1990 www.foyle.eu) and a Global Translation Service (Est 2000 www.ineedtranslations.eu ). Having extensively travelled he has built up a huge network of contacts both commercially and academically worldwide in the field of language development and vocational training and has always kept at the cutting edge of technology in this field.
In more recent years he has been involved in the business development side of online language teaching platforms through VR/AR and AI. His team has developed their own unique internship educational software package which he currently promotes to universities, colleges and international mobility students.
He has been involved in European vocational and adult programmes for over 30 years, stemming from the Socrates Programme 1995 to the current Erasmus + programme and oversees on average 1000 students per year on incoming and outgoing mobility KA1 and KA2 programmes. He is very student focused and is passionate that disadvantaged students from his region can avail of European programmes to enhance their career objectives and embrace European citizenship.
He is an active member of his local Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Board, an Enterprise board member of English UK (www.englishuk.com) and currently Chair of EnglishUK NI.
As a National EFVET Representative for the UK and Ireland since January 2026 he is very committed to enlarging the EFVET membership in both countries and to advise, encourage and prepare colleges for the UK joining once again the Erasmus+ programme in 2027
