Empowering Schools for Inclusive Internationalisation

Uniser Teacher Week (UTW) is back for its 2025 edition, bringing together over 100 educators and professionals from across Europe and beyond, for a transformative 3-day training course. From May 7-9, participants will gather in Bologna, Italy, to deepen their understanding of inclusion and internationalisation, build Erasmus+ projects, and forge meaningful partnerships.

“The motto of our European Union is: ‘United in diversity.’ Our task is to live up to these words, and to fulfil their meaning.”
– Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission

The event

Held at the innovative Fondazione Golinelli, Uniser Teacher Week 2025 is designed to empower schools to integrate inclusion into their internationalisation strategies. The event’s distinctive peer-learning approach fosters dynamic collaboration, equipping participants with tools and strategies to make global learning opportunities accessible to all students, regardless of their background or abilities.

Opificio Golinelli, the event venue, provides an inspiring and resource-rich environment. As an open ecosystem dedicated to education, research, and innovation, it embodies the collaborative and forward-thinking spirit of the Uniser Teacher Week.

How it works

Participants will select one of three Erasmus+ Actions – Learning Mobility, Cooperation Partnerships, or Partnerships for Innovation – as a focus for their project development. The event offers a mix of:

  • Erasmus+ Labs for hands-on project design and development.
  • Workshops on best practices for inclusive and impactful internationalisation.
  • Keynote speeches by thought leaders on equity, inclusion, and global skills.
  • Field visits to cultural and industrial landmarks in the Emilia-Romagna region, encouraging informal networking and inspiration.

The programme will delve into topics such as supporting learners with special needs, implementing inclusive practices, leveraging digital tools for remote mobility, and creating curricula that reflect equity and diversity.

Inclusion at the heart of internationalisation

The 2025 edition focuses on Empowering Schools for Inclusive Internationalisation, addressing the need to break down barriers to global learning. Inclusion is more than an ethical priority, it is a practical necessity in today’s education landscape.

Workshops and sessions will offer practical approaches to challenges such as:

  • Designing mobility opportunities for students with limited resources or physical constraints;
  • Navigating cultural, financial, and logistical barriers to participation;
  • Using digital tools to extend international opportunities to all learners.

By empowering educators to design inclusive Erasmus+ projects, the event fosters a culture where internationalisation is not only accessible but transformative.
