Enhancing EU Awareness in Vocational Education: New Resources from EU Class Alliance project

Jean Monnet project partners Centro San Viator (Spain), AKMI (Greece), Luovi Vocational College (Finland), Kuressaare Ametikool (Estonia), University of Trento (Italy), Firda (Norway) and Eurocultura (Italy) and ENAC Ente Nazionale Canossiano (Italy) as coordinator, are currently implementing the project’s initial phases.

The project has recently released its first significant outputs, marking an important milestone in the initiative’s progress:

Desk Research on Educational Curricula – A thorough comparative analysis has been carried out in six countries to understand how European Union topics are currently integrated into vocational education across different member states. The research and the interviews to teachers conducted provide valuable insights into the existing coverage of EU-related subjects in VET curricula, identifies gaps in EU knowledge among vocational students, and highlights opportunities for enhancing EU awareness in education.

Catalogue of Best Practices and Quick Wins – The consortium has compiled an extensive collection of effective teaching methods and practical activities that educators can immediately implement in their classrooms. This resource includes proven pedagogical approaches for teaching EU concepts, ready-to-use classroom activities that promote European awareness, adaptable teaching materials suitable for diverse vocational settings, and success stories from various European educational institutions. The catalogue is designed to be accessible and practical, offering solutions that can be implemented with minimal resources while maximizing student engagement and learning outcomes.

In the coming months project partners will involve teachers and educators in an online course guided by the University of Trento to develop and pilot learning activities with students. Keep an eye on our website to know more about it!
