Erasmus+ Vocational Education Accreditation Meeting in Kocaeli (TR) 

On the 26th and 27th of February, 2025 the EfVET Secretary General, Valentina Chanina, was invited to the Erasmus+ Vocational Education Accreditation Meeting in Kocaeli by the Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of National Education. 

This event brings together National Agency, Ministry of National Education and 31 schools holding Erasmus+ Vocational Education Accreditation, emphasizing our commitment to fostering educational innovation, collaboration, and internationalisation. The event was provided a platform to discuss criyical themes, including networking, digital transformation on mobility, inclusiveness, sustainability and while strengthening connections between European education networks. 

She highlighted in her presentation: 

  • Supporting joint training programmes between universities and research institutions, vocational education and training and industry. 
  • The advantages of non-EU mobilities within the scope of Global Thematic Team
  • The advantages of joining a network in the EU for a vocational high school with accreditation. 
  • Flexible learning pathways to accommodate divers learning style are needed. 
  • The importance of continuous education for working adults in an economy undergoing digital transformation. 
  • Collaboration in strengthening the VET sector, skills for teachers and trainers. 
  • The exchange of excellent experiences and best practices. 
  • The future funding questions from 2028 onwards, and investment in education through Erasmus + . 

We need to look at the future governance model for whole the whole initiative and also to archive a holistic and sustainable approach , taking into account a Multiannual Financial Framework for better impact. 

At the end of the session, after Valentina Chanina answered to some of participants’ questions, individually, she met with the Deputy Director of the Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of National Education, Mr. Mustafa DOĞAN, who kindly thanked her for accepting the invitation to be speaker and for EfVET contributions to the discussions about the relevance of EfVET activities, future Erasmus+ programme (KA1) and Multiannual Financial Framework (MMF 2028-2035). 

During the two days, Valentina Chanina, had the privilege of visiting EfVET member “Akçakoca Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi” school. During her tour, the Secretary General had opportunity to meet the students and teachers, who kindly gave her a presentation of the exchange in Zwolle and demonstration of their cooking and waitressing skills. 

She also met with the president of Kocaeli University, Prof. Dr. Nuh Zafer Cantürk, which is among the biggest universities in Türkiye.  

These enriching experiences provided valuable insight into how we can foster greater tourism and excellence in vocational education, reinforcing our shared commitment to empowering all learners. 

It was a pleasure meeting with EfVET members, to have the chance to network with incredible colleagues from Türkiye who share a passion for advancing education, lifelong learning and cooperation.
