European Kick-off of the project VITALity for the Future

European Kick-off of the project VITALity for the Future

A very successful kick-off meeting was enjoyed by participants attending the virtual launch of the Erasmus+ innovation project VITALity for the Future on 27 January 2021.

With 72 attendees from more than 8 countries, participation surpassed expectation.

Norbert Ruepert, the Project Coordinator, commented on how Vitality and Positive Health are now seen as critical issues for the future.  He said, “across Europe COVID-19 appears to have played a large role in the intense & high-quality discussions that were held in the six break-out groups”.

Key words from the discussions were: active living/active learning; connection; coming together; mental health support; appreciation and nudging. Nudging meaning that sometimes people only need a tiny push to help them move in the right direction.

Presentations in the kick-off detailed the project’s objectives, provided an insight into the work of the Institute of Positive Health & a virtual tour of the Vitality Lab at ROC Midden Nederland (available at this link).

The Vitality Lab was at the core of this project which aims to promote positive health & well-being & will develop new educational programmes & learning resources for students and people at work in the vitality sector, citizenship education for all students in VET and develop training programmes for teachers.

The VITALity partnership consists of 8 main partners from 5 countries with the support of associated partners in each country. In the Utrecht region these are the City of Utrecht, Reinaerde and Careyn.

The partners are striving to work very hard to develop the first project results so that a follow-up session to the kick-off can be organised later in the year. The VITALity project runs until the end of 2022.
