⚖️ Should educators who don’t update their digital skills be barred from teaching?

That’s the motion at the heart of our first-ever Oxford-style debate – and we want you to weigh in.

📅 Wednesday, 29 April | 11:00-12:00 CET

🎤 Hosted on the European Digital Education Hub

Two expert debaters will go head-to-head:

🟢 Jan Beseda (Czech National Centre for Distance Education) – arguing in favour

🔴 Declan Qualter (University College Dublin) – arguing against

The motion:

“This House believes that educators who do not regularly update their digital skills should not be allowed to continue teaching.”

It’s a question that cuts to the heart of professional development, teacher autonomy, and the future of digital education. Should upskilling be a requirement – or does mandating it go too far?

Come ready to listen, challenge, and vote.
