MOSAIC was the first Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) initiative funded by Erasmus+ Programme fully dedicated to Arts and Crafts and to foster Vocational Excellence in the sector.
Aimed at Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers, VET teachers and VET learners, as well as Arts and Crafts professionals, for 4 years (2022 – 2026) MOSAIC carried out several activities involving these target groups and other key stakeholders, and went beyond what was expected, both in terms of initiatives implemented and in terms of participants involved.
This was the case of the Hackathon methodology implemented in the MOSAIC International Skills Performance (ISP). Conducted back in 2024 with more than 40 participants from the countries represented in the partnership (Armenia, Canada, Bulgaria, Italy, France and Finland), the main objective of the ISP was to improve the attractiveness of the Arts and Crafts professions among VET learners, who were expected to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams during one week, supported by teachers and experts / professionals, towards the achievement of a specific result.
However, MOSAIC went one step further: after the ISP, its Hackathon methodology was transformed into a training module (allowing it to be replicated by VET schools across Europe and beyond, in classroom contexts), and was implemented by VET partner organisations during 2025.
“MOSAIC Hackathon– Crafting skills for the future” webinar will gather Lida Poghosyan (SEPR), Ola Kukkasniemi (Wooden Oy), Gabriela Rodriguez (Scuola Centrale Formazione / Artigianelli Trento) and Dimitar Angelski (Harmonia 1), who were deeply involved in these processes.
By sharing their experience, these speakers will help the session’s participants to understand:
