FPEmpresa holds its first-time online General Assembly
FPEmpresa VET Schools Association held last Thursday 7th of October its 2020 General Assembly. The most highlighted characteristic of this year’s edition is, without a doubt, the fact that it was held in an online environment. Given the current circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Association’s Board of Directors wanted to prioritise, above all, the safety of all the representatives of the associated centres, by avoiding their journey for a face-to-face Assembly.
“The day of the Annual General Assembly is the most significant day for us, because it allows us to gather and keep working towards high-quality Vocational and Educational Training”, said Luis García, President of the Association, moments before it kicked off. After the welcoming speech from the President, the GA attendees had the opportunity to listen to Juan Carlos Lauder, Director of Bankia Foundation for Dual Training; foundation with which FPEmpresa has recently renewed the cooperation agreement that both entities have had since 2017 to keep fostering VET in Spain.
Voting on GA documents was carried out by means of an electronic voting system. This sophisticated system has full legal validity, since it has been certified by high-tech identity verification processes prior to the GA.
After finishing both ordinary and extraordinary calls, the attendees from the associated centres could listen to the speech given by the Secretary General of the Spanish Ministry of Education and VET, Clara Sanz, in which she shared some insights and some news from the Ministry in the field of Vocational and Educational Training. “Now is the right time for VET, we cannot miss out on this opportunity. Our goal is for VET students to be proud of saying that they have studied VET”, she stated.
