Can Virtual Reality transform vocational education in social and healthcare?
Through the Erasmus+ VRCare project, educators, care professionals and IT specialists are discovering that innovation goes beyond technology.
During a recent partner meeting in Patras, Greece, participants tested six new interactive VR scenarios focused on stimulation and sensory training.
The experience highlighted valuable lessons: understanding learners’ needs, allowing time for familiarisation and integrating VR meaningfully into teaching.
Perhaps the greatest achievement is the transformation of initially hesitant educators into confident VR users and advocates.
VRCare demonstrates that VR cannot replace real-life care experiences but can enrich practical training and strengthen educators’ digital competences.
By July 2027, twelve VR scenarios and supporting educational resources will be available through the VRCare Learning Environment.
