Brussels, May 1st. EfVET celebrates International Workers Day, as part of its DNA. VET is a major cornerstone for the workforce: the VET community prepares young people for future jobs, often using Work Based Learning and Apprenticeship approaches for Initial VET. But VET is also essential in Adult Education offering Continuous VET opportunities, a crucial area to cope with a disruptive world where the lifelong learning perspective is key to employability and competitiveness.
Labour is not just skills and tasks: labour is a unique opportunity for every individual to express one’s passions, interests and abilities and to contribute to building a brighter future world.
For this very reason, we also celebrate workers, the essential key behind any function, any technology, any service or product. We must thank every worker and keep advocating to make workers’ rights and workplaces more inclusive, where quality, wellbeing, and equality are at the centre of labour and VET policies.
