MCC boosts its sustainability actions with the coordination of ECO_Tag Project

The KA220 project, which will be active until 2025, will develop Green Tags for Culinary VET centres

MCC, as part of its sustainability campaign, started working in the project ECO_Tag, funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. The project, which MCC leads and counts with partners from Italy, Lithuania, Estonia, and Switzerland, has as main aim to develop a label which does not yet exist, addressing the specific nature of VET schools devoted to the HoReCa sector, which require specialised training and special sustainable certification.

The ECO-TAG project will work to address the environmental impact and relationship with the food sector of culinary VET centres, analysing their success in promoting environmental techniques. This will allow the generation of specific and general sustainable competences (with the European sustainability framework “Green Comp” as a basis), change behaviours and the reduction of the carbon footprint. Through this project, MCC continues working towards the inclusion of sustainability in the centre. The project will complement other initiatives from MCC, such as the Sustainability Protocol and the Analysis of Sustainability and Inclusion in the centre, carried out by Italian and Belgian partners.
