This year’s EfVET Tourism Thematic Team Annual Event took place in the beautiful city of Annonay (France), between 2 and 4 of April.

EfVET Members attending this Event had the opportunity to participate in several initiatives, including study visits, workshops dedicated to topics that are crucial for the VET and the Tourism sectors, and roundtables where they were able to know about different Erasmus+ funded projects that are currently being implemented and that address Tourism, the different challenges it is facing, and how can VET reply to such challenges.

One of these projects was MICROIDEA, which purpose is to contribute for the innovation of VET by creating an holistic methodology for micro-credentials connected to ISO/IEC 17024, applied to the Tourism sector.

This roundtable had 20 participants, who were presented with the concept proposed by MICROIDEA and with its expected results, which include the development of a training course for the “Waiter” job occupation, an online tool for skills self-assessment and job recommendations, a micro-credential system connected to ISO/IEC 17024, and an holistic methodology that will foster the balance between NQFs and the MICROIDEA system.

Soon, the training course will be piloted in Greece, Spain and in Cyprus, and so these and other EfVET Members in these countries, interested in participating, will be welcomed to participate!
