MOSAIC Kick-off Meeting organised by the project coordinator SEPR in Lyon

MOSAIC Mastering Job-Oriented Skills in Arts & Crafts thanks to Inclusive Centres of Vocational Excellence is a project funded by Erasmus+ programme, under its Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) action.

This project, which has a duration of four years (June 2022 – May 2026) gathers 16 experienced EU and non-EU partners from Education, Research and Industry sectors that will be working closely together to foster vocational excellence within Arts & Crafts sector, addressing the issues faced by Vocational Education and Training (VET) Schools, by learners (including those with fewer opportunities) and by companies of the sector. MOSAIC aims to ensure high quality skills leading to quality employment and career-long opportunities that meet the needs of an innovative, inclusive and sustainable economy.

The kick-off meeting was organised by the project coordinator SEPR from September 13 to 15, 2022 in Lyon, France. As Coordinator of MOSAIC, SEPR welcomed all partners in Lyon (FR) for the project’s Kick-off Meeting between September 13th and 15th. With a full and interesting Agenda, partners had the opportunity to focus on the project, on its main objectives and expected results through the presentation of each Work Package (WP) and respective workplans.

EfVET is the partner responsible for WP6 Dissemination & Impact, co-led by Materahub (member of EfVET) and during its presentation partners got to decide about the final version of the project’s logo and discuss about the dissemination activities they must carry out during MOSAIC implementation period in order to engage all project’s target groups with the project and its activities to maximise the impact of those activities beyond the partnership and beyond the project.

In addition to MOSAIC WPs’ presentations, during the three days of the meeting, partners had the opportunity to visit SEPR’s facilities and some of its teachers and students from courses such as Jewellery, Cabinet Making, Cooking and Fashion Design. MOSAIC partners were also able to participate in field visits to L’Atelier Emmaüs (a local company working in wood design focusing on social and green innovation) and to Chambre de Métiers et de l’Artisanat (CMAR ARA, one of MOSAIC partner organisations, based in Lyon).

On the last day of the meeting, to conclude this very fruitful KoM and before coming back to their countries, partners had the opportunity to attend an exhibition in the scope of SEPR International Design Workshop, in which students from EQF level 3 courses presented some of their projects, coached by international designers.
