MOSAIC: launch of a Centre of Vocational Excellence in Arts and Crafts
From September 13th to 15th 2022, the MOSAIC project – Mastering job-Oriented Skills in Arts & crafts thanks to Inclusive Centres of vocational excellence – will be launched in Lyon (FR) at the Société d’Enseignement Professionnel du Rhône (SEPR) premises, in the presence of representatives of its 15 international partners.
SEPR is the coordinator of this flagship project, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme under the aegis of the European Commission, and whose objective is to promote excellence in vocational training and education (VET). It will gather around fifty participants – directors of vocational schools, university staff and professors, business leaders, representatives of chambers of commerce and chambers of trade, European networks, representatives of associations, etc. – from Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Finland, Italy and France.
This international meeting will lay the first stone of an innovative and extremely ambitious project in the field of training in arts and crafts. For the next 4 years, the 15 partners will work hand in hand, to analyse the current and future needs of companies in the arts and crafts sector, taking into account the profound changes that are going through our societies – technological, ecological, digital, and social; with the aim to adapt the training offer in each country to better meet the current challenges, with an inclusive and learner-centred vision.
The MOSAIC project will address key issues for VET providers and arts and crafts businesses, and provide concrete solutions that will ensure the employability of learners and the competitiveness of businesses in the sector. Challenges related to innovation, digital transformation, green transition and new forms of work will be at the centre of the project. The transnational cooperation platform to be set up will allow learners, teachers and professionals in the sector to follow training courses in a modular way and in several countries. It will also make it possible to break down barriers and bring together universes that still too often operate in silos.
In parallel and in resonance, an international design workshop will also take place this same week, led by three Finnish designers who will coach SEPR Design students. They will question the feasibility of producing 100% natural objects and try to rethink our human existence in symbiosis with a natural environment. The opening of the exhibition will take place on September 15 in the presence of the MOSAIC partners.
A beautiful artistic evening in perspective!
