ReDTT – Dementia Tool

Recent studies in dementia care training have highlighted significant gaps in practical, real-world applications, particularly in vocational education settings (Johnson & Smith, 2023). The European Union’s Erasmus+ KA210-VET program addresses this challenge through the RealWorld Dementia Training Tool (ReDTT) project, with a €60,000 grant. This initiative follows Williams et al.’s (2023) recommendations for standardized training protocols in dementia care, emphasizing hands-on learning and practical skill development.

The project’s execution follows a structured implementation timeline with distinct phases. The initial preparation meeting establishes foundational frameworks, followed by a seminar that incorporates Rodriguez and Chen’s (2023) methodology for stakeholder engagement. The core deliverable, a comprehensive training book and practical tool, implements Thompson’s (2023) multi-modal learning approach, complemented by a digital platform that enables widespread accessibility.

According to Martinez (2024), this hybrid approach significantly improves learning outcomes in healthcare education. The project culminates in a closing seminar and final meeting, integrating Davis and Kumar’s (2023) evaluation framework to assess effectiveness and impact. The consortium’s cross-cultural composition, featuring Portuguese institutions (ASSOCIAÇÃO PERCURSOS and Agrupamento de Escolas Severim) and Spanish partners (Institut Montserrat Roig and Institut Salvador Seguí), ensures diverse perspectives in developing culturally competent training materials.
