TEF (Tourism Education of the Future) Erasmus+ project meeting in Kalamata
Orizon VET Center in Kalamata hosted the transnational project meeting in Kalamata, coordinated by Apro Formazione
After the online masterclasses in April, the working group of the Erasmus+ project TEF (Tourism Education of the Future) met in Greece to organise the next project activities, training events and blended skills competitions.
The activities of the Erasmus+ TEF (Tourism Education of the Future) project continue: the six project partners, Orizon VET Center, CEBANC, Insignare, Landstede, International University of Sarajevo and EfVET, led by Apro Formazione, met in Kalamata to organise the next project activities that aim to upskill teachers and trainers, and propose innovative learning methods for tourism students.
The calendar of the next TEF masterclasses, discussed during the meeting, will be officially presented during the next Tourism Thematic Team online plenary meeting, scheduled for September 2023.
These days the partners are completing the first needs analysis of the tourism ecosystem in order to reduce the skills gap between VET providers and the tourism industry. Once the results are elaborated, it will be possible to start developing training activities for teachers, trainers and students.
An online course catalogue will soon be made available, with free and open access training materials, selected and tested by teachers, lecturers and industry experts. In addition, the Kalamata meeting was an opportunity to share the training pathways for professionals offered by each institute, to lay the foundations for the organisation of 9 CVET courses, to update tourism professionals on the basis of the skills gaps identified by the market analysis conducted so far.
Two blended skills competitions for students will be held in November, dedicated to the theme of gastronomy. The first will be held in Fatima, Portugal, at the INSIGNARE school, with the involvement of Apro Formazione and IUS. The other will be held in Zwolle, the Netherlands, and will involve Landstede, Orizon and CEBANC.
