TEI of Western Greece becomes an official member of the Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition

TEI of Western Greece participates actively, as an official member, in the Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition, an important initiative of the European Commission, which assembles representatives of the member-states, companies, social partners, NGOs and education providers that take up measures to face the digital gap in Europe. The candidacy of TEIWEST, presenting the university’s profile, its priorities and actions that enhance digital skills and prepare ICT professionals, was officially approved on March, 27th.
In the frames of this networking strategy, there was recently approved as pledge the university’s project for the certification of the digital skills and ICT knowledge for teachers through the institution of Training Support Centers.
The next goal of TEIWEST is to contribute to the formulation of the National Coalition of Digital Skills and Jobs with proposals and policy recommendations.
The Coalition aims at:
- developing digital skills to enable all citizens to be active in our digital society
- developing digital skills for the digital economy, e.g. upskilling and reskilling workers, jobseekers; actions on career advice and guidance
- developing high level digital skills for ICT professionals in all industry sectors
- transforming teaching and learning of digital skills in a lifelong learning perspective, including the training of teachers
