Telegrow project coordinated by Florida Universitària has been launched
The Telegrow project, coordinated by Florida Universitària, officially starts with the kick-off meeting
The Telegrow project ‘Improving digital competences of teleworking for middle-aged employees‘, has officially started its activities with the first meeting of the project partners on April 20, organised by Florida Universitària as project coordinator. This project, according to Inma Mora, Head of International Relations and Erasmus Coordinator in Florida, is very important “especially in the times we are living through due to the Covid-19 pandemic and that will help us to propose appropriate training solutions to provide and, where appropriate, update the digital skills of employees over 50 and help them to work effectively from their own home“.
Vicky Gómez, expert in Innovation Development and Digital Culture, and Eduardo Lázaro, European Projects technician, both from Florida Universitària, are part of the coordinating team of this project which aims to support trainers by providing them with knowledge on teleworking and offering them innovative means to attract adult learners. The project will provide training professionals and VET centres with the necessary knowledge and tools to enable their teachers and staff in general over the age of 50 to telework effectively, thus adapting to the new reality of distance work in the current pandemic situation.
During the meeting, the main activities to be developed during the two years of the project were presented. Special emphasis was put on aspects related to the management of the project and the actions to be developed and implemented in order to achieve the final objective of the project to improve the digital telework competences of adults.
As main results of the project, the creation of an interactive map on the telework situation in each participating country is foreseen, as well as guides and training modules related to telework that will be included in an e-learning platform.
“In this difficult pandemic period, adaptability to new conditions is very important, especially for vulnerable groups such as employees over 50. With our TeleGrow project we aim to support trainers, not only by providing them with knowledge about telework, but also by offering them innovative means to attract more older learners“, Inma Mora emphasised.
This meeting was held online due to current mobility restrictions, and was a first contact of all project partners – educational centres, associations and consultancy companies from Spain, Poland, Greece, Italy and France.
The Telegrow project, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme and its implementation period is 2 years (from 1 March 2021 to 28 February 2023), is one of the 15 projects approved in Spain in the last call of the KA226 action – Partnerships for Digital Education Readiness in Vocational Education and Training, being also the one with the largest budget.
