3rd May – Today, we celebrate the World Press Freedom Day, a reminder of the need of respecting the commitment to press freedom, a day of support for media which are often targets of restrictions and restraint. This year’s theme, “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Press Freedom and the Media”, focuses on the influence of AI on journalism and media.

EfVET and its members believes in Press Freedom and other democratic European values; within the EURO4VET project, of which EfVET is part of, EU values and EU citizenship are being promoted. EfVET members acknowledge the importance of Press Freedom, as well as freedom of expression as a core value of education and training, that we advocate for.
As the media evolves, equipping learners with tools to understand the press properly to avoid possible threats such as ‘fake news’ becomes more important than ever. Press Freedom is fundamental as it doesn’t only empower journalists and other professionals, but all the individuals.
